In his commitment to uplifting communities through music, Fitzgerald conducted a concert of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in 2017 with musicians from the Detroit, Lansing and Grand Rapids Symphonies in response to the federal travel ban limiting immigration. There’s no better way to celebrate the beginning of the 2022/23 season than to be surrounded by our vibrant community! The annual Community Concerts are our way of saying THANK YOU for continuing to support the Jacksonville Symphony and helping us fulfill our mission to enrich the human spirit through symphonic music. These special performances are free and open to all. Gone are the days when performances were a formal affair, so dress to your comfort and prepare for a night of sensational, impactful music.
The Community Concerts will feature a lively mix of both Classical and Pops favorites. Get a sneak peak at the Symphony’s most shining performances of the season with selections like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Overture from The Magic Flute, highlights from Jurassic Park and so much more! Our new Associate Conductor Kevin Fitzgerald, along with the ultra-talented musicians of the Jacksonville Symphony, are sure to deliver an exciting, soul-stirring performance for all to enjoy.
